PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Thank you for visiting our website and for your interest in The Saturday Club!

The Club began in 1886 when a small group of intrepid and forward-thinking women came together to form an organization whose purpose was to serve their community and each other. This remains the mission of The Saturday Club today.

We are a wonderful group of women from all walks of life who join together to enrich our community through our volunteer efforts and provide philanthropic support to other organizations and charities in the greater Philadelphia area. Further, we enrich our own lives by working together and forming new and lasting friendships with each other.

Over the long history of The Saturday Club, we have provided countless volunteer hours with organizations that serve families and children. We have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to local hospitals, libraries, college scholarships, and a multitude of organizations serving children and families in our community.

Our Clubhouse, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, has served as the area's first kindergarten and as an emergency hospital during the 1918 influenza pandemic and again during World War II. It continues to be a vital part of our community today, and is available to rent for special meetings and functions.

Our fundraising efforts enable us to continue this long tradition of philanthropy. Through our American Girl Fashion Show, the sale of our cookbooks, including our newest volume Main Line Entertains, and rentals of our Clubhouse, we are able to contribute more than our founders would ever have imagined.

Being a member of The Saturday Club has been a uniquely rewarding experience, both in terms of the wonderful friends I've made and what, as part of a whole, I have been able to contribute to and continue to contribute to my community.
