FUNDRAISING

Fundraising is a vital part of the Saturday Club. The money we raise funds our philanthropic efforts, operating expenses, and capital expenses. The women in the club work throughout the year on projects both large and small so that we can attain our financial goals.

Our largest project is the American Girl Fashion Show, with 2009 marking our 7th year presenting the shows. This dynamic event has allowed us to give over $500,000 to worthy children's charities and requires the attention and devotion of every single member of the club.

At the beginning of each school year, the club is putting the finishing touches on one of the area's oldest and most well-attended Cotillion Classes for local children in the fourth and fifth grades. The classes begin in October and run through January, and are held at our historic Clubhouse in Wayne.

In October of each year, we also participate in the Shopping Benefit Charity Day at Bloomingdale's. This is a fun day and the club always performs extremely well and is regularly considered to be one of the top five grossing organizations involved.

The Saturday Club's Women and Children's Consignment Sale is a new event for 2009, as we look to explore other fundraising opportunities.
