FUNDRAISING AND EVENTS
Fundraising is a vital part of The Saturday Club. The money we raise funds our philanthropic efforts, operating expenses, and capital expenses. The women in the Club work throughout the year on projects both large and small so that we can attain our financial goals. Our fundraising is ongoing, and we also hold several special events throughout the year.
In 2011, our Club will celebrate its long 125th Anniversary with a weekend of fundraising events.
At the beginning of each school year, the club is putting the finishing touches on one of the area's oldest and most well-attended Cotillion for local children in the third through sixth grades. The classes begin in October and run through December, and are held at our historic Clubhouse in Wayne.
One of our newest fundraisers, the Dining Etiquette class, is open to children in grades 4-6. Held in December, the event features hands-on instruction from Jon D. Williams Cotillions, our beloved Cotillion instructor, and a three-course catered sit-down meal.
The Saturday Club's Women and Children's Consignment Sale, now in its fourth year, is held bi-annually in October and April.
The Saturday Club also hosts an annual Holiday Market which is open to the public, with amazing local boutiques and vendors showcasing their wares from specialty clothing items, jewelry, paper goods, decorative items, and much, much more.
The Club also holds several smaller-scale fundraisers throughout the year in which the public is invited to participate: Peace-A-Pizza Fundraiser (October), Handel's Ice Cream Pint Card Sale (April), Holiday Toffee Sale (November and December), Holiday Wreath Sale (October-December), King of Prussia Shopping Event (Spring), and Goodsearch.com (ongoing).
