Should there be inclement weather on Tuesday, February 16, please note that we will be communicating with you via this email blast and will update our Models Information section of this website.
As of 8:30am on Tuesday, February 16, the Fittings & Photography event is still on as planned. Please allow yourselves a little extra time for careful driving and parking to your appointment. Note: West Wayne Avenue has only one-side of the street parking due to the snow. Parking may be available in the municipal parking lot behind the library across the street from the clubhouse.

Footwear and accessories are provided by models for the Fashion Show. It is perfectly fine to use items you already own or that have been borrowed; you are not required to purchase any items. Please contact us if you have difficulty locating items for your costume. Each costume also has suggested hairstyles. Please style your daughter’s hair as closely as described on the day of her show. Ticket Information – IMPORTANT!!!
You should have already purchased your “Models Only” tickets. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis and have been released to the public. If you would like to be seated at the same table or in neighboring tables as other guests, this must be noted specifically on your ticket order form, and tickets must be purchased using ONE FORM ONLY. Accommodations for large parties are made on a first-come first-served basis, as there is limited space at the Desmond. Tables seat 10 (some seat 12). Please be aware that seating for large parties is typically sold out within the first 3 weeks of ticket sales.
“Preferred Upgrade” seats to some shows are already sold out. Purchase your tickets tonight if you have not already!! Note: It is not necessary to purchase a ticket for your daughter for the show in which she is modeling.

REHEARSALS & Practicing for the Fashion Show
For both rehearsals:
· Dress comfortably
· Allow at least 1-1/2 hours for the rehearsal
· Please be on time so we may run through the shows as quickly as possible. Please feel free to bring homework (or other quiet activity) and a snack
· All models must have a responsible adult present throughout the rehearsal. Our volunteers are working and are unable to babysit.
The fashion show is at a new location this year – the beautiful Desmond Hotel in Malvern, PA. This year the fashion show will be presented on a “real” runway. This is a significant change from previous years. It is extremely important that the girls attend the rehearsals as we will be discussing the proper entrance and exit procedures as well as walking the runway during these rehearsals.
Weather-Related Information
In the event of questionable inclement weather, please be aware that we will be sending out email blasts and updating our website at http://www.saturdayclub.org/american-girl-model-information.php with any changes. If you have a question regarding weather-related status of an event, make sure to check the website and your email for information. A Little Information About the Day of the Show
Models need to arrive one (1) hour prior to show time and will remain backstage for the duration of the show. Please have them "Show Ready". This means hair styled according to doll/outfit being modeled and NO MAKE-UP. You will be able to pick-up your daughter after the show is over and after all the girls have been released by Show Management. Depending on the time of your daughter’s show, please plan mealtimes accordingly. We will provide water, pretzels, and apples as light snacks while they are backstage. You will receive further details at the Desmond rehearsal.

Important Notice - please mark your calendars!
The Site Rehearsal at The Desmond originally scheduled for March 2 or 3 has been moved to MONDAY, FEBRUARY 22.
The dates for Fittings & Photography (FEBRUARY 16) and the Clubhouse Rehearsal (FEBRUARY 20) remain unchanged.
We apologize for the change in plans. The Desmond had the opportunity for a significant contract that would use the hotel's guest rooms and meeting rooms for the entire week of March 1 through March 5, which included our original site rehearsal dates. We have agreed to accommodate The Desmond's request to move our site rehearsal. In return, The Desmond has agreed to make a generous contribution to the fashion show.
The site rehearsals on Monday, February 22 will be by Show Number in the following order, at The Desmond Hotel (1 Liberty Boulevard, Malvern, PA 19355):

Show 2: 5:15 pm
Show 3: 6:15 pm
Show 4: 7:15 pm
Please plan to arrive about 10 minutes before the rehearsal start time and allow approximately 1-1/2 hours for the rehearsal. We realize that this change may affect your planning, but it is very important that every model makes it to the site rehearsal. If you have any difficulties with the new site rehearsal date, please contact the model committee at agfashionshow@yahoo.com as soon as possible.
We sincerely appreciate your accommodation of this planning. As always, our efforts are made towards an incredibly positive experience for the girls and a successful fundraising effort for our charities. We had a wonderful Meet & Greet with over 200 of our 2010 American Girl Fashion Show models on January 23, 2010. Thank you for participating in The Saturday Club's 8th Annual American Girl Fashion Show fundraiser. By volunteering your time and talent, you are helping raise money that will directly benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and The Saturday Club Children's Charity Fund.
We have sent you information via email the following information:

All appointments are scheduled according to show and show order. Because of the large number of children participating in the shows, it is very important that each child be on time for fittings and rehearsals. The success and smooth operation of the show is a cooperative effort on everyone's part and unforeseen absences or scheduling changes can impact many other models' schedules. Models Only Ticket Order Form You received a special pink order form to purchase tickets at the Meet & Greet. You MUST use the special pink order form to order tickets for your family and guests. You do not need to order a ticket for the model appearing in the fashion show. PLEASE ORDER YOUR TICKETS ASAP AS ALL THE SHOWS SELL OUT EXTREMELY QUICKLY!! We will hold 2 tickets per model until February 8, 2010 at which time they will be released to the general public. Reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis. The "Preferred Upgrade" seating option is an additional $10 per ticket; if not available at the time your order is received, you will be refunded the upgrade charge.
Remember your SHOW ASSIGNMENT! All Fittings & Photography and rehearsal dates and times are scheduled according to your show assignment.
Important Dates to Remember
The Saturday Club’s Eighth Annual American Girl Fashion Show weekend will take place from March 6-7, 2010 at the Desmond Hotel in Malvern, Pennsylvania. Please note: Models need to arrive 1 hour prior to Showtime and remain backstage for the duration of the show. You will receive further details at the Desmond rehearsal.
Fittings & Photography: Tuesday, February 16, 2010, by appointment. For Fittings & Photography, the girls will be fitted into their costumes for the show, and will be photographed by professional photographer Joanne Posse.
- Portraits and program photographs may be purchased at that time. Click here to download the order form - bring this with you to your Fittings & Photography appointment.
- Allow at least ONE HOUR for Fittings & Photography
- Please make sure your child is "camera ready" - hair combed, NO MAKE-UP
- Fittings are schedules so no two girls are trying on the same costume at the same time. If you are late for fittings, please be prepared to wait for your costume to be available. Thank you for your consideration and understanding.
Clubhouse Rehearsal: Saturday, February 20, 2010, by appointment.

- Please be ON TIME as we will be running through each show in SHOW ORDER to familiarize girls to their parts.
Desmond Rehearsal: This date has been determined!! TUESDAY, MARCH 2 - time TBA, by appointment. Note: This is a NEW LOCATION from previous years! The show will not be a runway setting - no longer a stage. There will be many changes from previous shows, so even if you are a returning model, it is imperative that you attend the Desmond Rehearsal.

- Allow at least 2 hours for the rehearsal
- Please be on time so we may run through the shows as quickly as possible. It will be a busy week for all the girls and we want them well-rested for the actual shows. Please feel free to bring homework and a snack.
